WILLIAM BURNET (1688-1729). Governor of New York and New Jersey (1720-1728) and Massachusetts and New Hampshire (1728-1729) as the English Royal Colonial Administrator. March 19, 1723-Dated Colonial America Era, Manuscript Document Signed "Twice" as the Governor of New York, 1 page, measuring 8" x 12", at New York, Very Fine. Some minor ink spread does not detract from the nice overall condition of this vivid and boldly written Colonial Document. Here, John Nicholls and Joseph Smith, being "the greatest creditors" of a resident of Jamaica, Queens, who died intestate, petition Burnet to claim what is owed them; then they take the Oath of Administration. Burnet has signed off on both the granting of their petition, and their certification as official administrators.
