From the Harper’s Weekly February 1876 supplement is this centerspread map, 22” x 16,” titled “New York One Hundred Years Ago” which prints the1775 John Montresor Map of New York City with 37 point key noting such landmarks as Trinity Church, Fraunce’s Tavern, City Hall .... and so many more. The map is surrounded with nine engravings. In the original, this 1775 map has a value of $35,000-$45,000. Montresor’s map of New York is probably the best overall depiction of the town and environs produced by the British. It is very detailed, and was used, and highly regarded, by both sides in the Revolutionary War.
