Newspaper, “The Pennsylvania Evening Post” 4p. quarto, February 21, 1775, with various articles some of which read in part:” ...Letters from Paris advise that the vintage has this year surpassed any they have had in that kingdom since the year 1720....They expect now to be relieved from all their burthensome taxes,...” as well as “The manly mode of resistance adopted by the Americans, the spirited temper, yet determined conduct, so conspicious in their resolutinos, at once defeat the vile aspersions of their adversaries, and endear them to every Englishman, who has a single spark of the heavenly flame of liberty kindled in his bosom. Where is now that dastardly cowardice, where that mean submission, which the misisterial writers predicted of the Bostonians?...The Americans have acquitted themselves like heroes, worthy of the descendants of Britons; whilst the misterial reptiles, the footmen of government, have behaved in a most dastardly manner...” Also news from Williamsburg about “mischievous people of Pennsylvania” who are trying to antiganize the Shawannese Indians against the people of Virginia, as well as news from Boston “At a meeting of the Committees of Correspondence and Inspection in the county of New London on the 30th ult. among other votes of resolutions, it was unanimously resolved, That any person taht shall have any commerical connexion whatever with any of the Addressors to Governor Hutchingson, or with any of the Mandamus Men, so called, is a violator of the true spirit and meaning of the Continental Resolves, and ought to be proceeded with as a violator thereof, and inimical to his country...” VG.
