Abraham Lincoln "Tousled Hair Portrait". Lincoln was photographed several times by Alexander Hesler. The first time occurred on February 28, 1857, resulting in the so-called "tousled hair" portrait, known as O-2 in "Lincoln in Photographs". This is a circa 1880-1890 cabinet card by Max Platz of Chicago. Lincoln liked the image, but his wife did not. Lincoln wrote to a friend in 1860 that his opinion in such matters did not count for much. Finding an example with a Hesler imprint is nearly impossible. Photographers imprint on recto and verso, some crossed out pen notations on verso, else a fine image.
