CDV of Confederate Major General James Ewell Brown Stuart in uniform, signed " J.E.B. Stuart" in lower margin, from a lithograph, with no backmark. An exceptionally rare item to be signed by the iconic cavalier himself ! We have not been able to find another to compare for value. Yet there are other important signed civil war CDV’s such as; Joshua Chamberlain, $14,950; Robert E. Lee, $8,900; George E. Pickett $7,750; U.S. Grant $5000. Certainly this is an exceptional item for the serious collector.Old pricing and inventory notes in pencil are semi-erased on the verso, else toned paper, very good condition.
