Book, "C. Cornelii Taciti Opera Quoad Extant", 2 parts, total 846 pages, 1846 completely in Latin. Contemporary one-quarter morocco with marbled boards, smooth spine with gilt lettering (chipping and scuffs). New stereotyped edition. Publius (or Gaius) Cornelius Tacitus (ca. AD 56 - ca. AD 120) was a senator and a historian of the Roman Empire. The Virginia Military Institute book is a remarkable relic from three Virginia Military Institute cadets, all of whom served during the Civil War in Virginia regiments.
