Has an illustration of a prison. More. Very good condition, lacks back cover. Founded in 1825 by Louis Dwight, the Prison Discipline Society of Boston collected facts and statistics on prisons through correspondence and annual visits to various prisons. Corresponding members included Alexis de Tocqueville, and Samuel Woodward.
