Historic Liverpool Creamware Pitcher / Jug, With A Sailing Ship and "Come Box the Compass" Black Transfer Images, Choice Near Mint. This choice quality Liverpool Pitcher measures about 6.75" tall x 7" wide from the back of the handle to the tip of the spout. Type not shown in Arman. The transfers include a Mariner's Compass Design Vignette on one side and an American Sailing Ship with several persons on board, Flying a wonderful and highly unusual Circular 13-Star American Flag. A rare American Flag design we have not seen used. Another transfer vignette design is the Naval Militaria shown below the ship. It includes Boarding Spears, Palms, a Cannon with Cannon balls, plus an early design Diving Helmet. This impressive Pitcher is extremely clean, having excellent overall eye appeal for display. The compass design is headed by a scroll that reads "Come Box the Compass" which was invented by Murphy a Dutchman AD 1229 first exhibited at Venice 1260 Improved by Giora of Naples 1309 its declination discovered by Hartman 1538.
