Pamphlet, 16pp. (mis-paginated by the printer”, “Kansas in 1856 : An Aauthentic Account of the Outrages in Kansas, since the appointment of the Kansas Investigating Committee, and not embraced in their report to the House of Representatives: From Actual Observation, And Testimony of Eye-Witness, By An Officer of the Commission”. It details the violence and bloodshed that occurred in Kansas during the year 1856. The pamphlet provides an overview of the events leading up to the violence, including the passage of the Kansas-Nebraska Act, which allowed settlers in Kansas to decide whether or not to allow slavery. The pamphlet also details the various acts of violence that occurred, including the sacking of the town of Lawrence by pro-slavery forces and the massacre at Pottawatomie Creek by abolitionists. The pamphlet concludes by calling for an end to the violence and for the protection of the rights of all citizens in Kansas.
