Matson Photo Service Press Photo, 8-1/2" x 10", December 9, 1917 shows throngs of Palestinians lining the road in anticipation of seeing General Allenby. The photo is back stamped "Encyclopaedia Judaica" with note, "surrender of Jerusalem to the British Dec. 9 ; British General arriving at Jaffa Gate."
