Pair of war-date CDVs, each of Sergeant Horace H. Brower. The first shows him, in civilian attire, before being wounded in the arm at Antietam by A. Harcq, Bowery, NYC. The period pencil inscription on the verso: "Horace H. Brower…late of Co. F 10th Regt. N. Y. V."…PLUS; full standing view of Brower in overcoat with arm in sling, inscribed in ink on face, "Sergt. H.H. Brower, wounded Antietam in right arm." Penciled inscription on verso reads, "Horace H.W. Brower, Co. F 10th Regt. National Zouaves NY." Brower was also wounded during the battle of Spotsylvania, VA on May 10, 1864, at which time his right leg was amputated. Both with irregular margins, else VG (2 CDVs)
