United States Navy, 1pp. quarto, April 7, 1830, addressed to Commodore Charles Stewart, and reads in part: “...I am informed that certain documents forwarded by the authorities of the Swedish Island, St. Bartholomew touching the capture of the schooner Federal by the United States ship Erie, under my command, with the jurisdiction of that island, are to be laid before the court of inquiry of which you are President....I therefore respectfully request that you will use such means as are proper and under your control to have them provided and exhibited before the court...” Very good condition. Daniel Turner (1794-1850) After receiving his midshipman’s warrant on January 1, 1808, he was assigned to USS Constitution.
