Firm Bound Volume of Newspaper, 38 issues, "Illustrated Christian Weekly" New York, April 15, 1871 through December 30, 1871. This is the first year of operation, thus the April 15th issue is Volume I, Issue I. Each 12 page issue has attractive illustrated cover and several wood-cut illustration in the interior pages. The news and stories present a Christian view. Scarce to find a complete year, 11" x 16," fine. Lyman Abbott, an American Congregationalist theologian, founded the Illustrated Christian Weekly in 1871.
