Sir William Pepperrell (1696-1759). 1st Baronet of Massachusetts. Merchant, soldier. Led the expedition that captured Fort Louisburg from the French during King George's War. Partial document signed with a large, bold signature,"Wm. Pepperell", 7 1/3" x 3 ¼". January 2, 1734. Mounted to another sheet. A fine example of his signature.
