c. 1820, Shadow Box Framed, likely British made, Very Fine. Vintage decorative shadow box framed for hanging on a wall. It has a 3.25" high x 2" wide Profile Portrait in Wax of George Washington, shown wearing his Revolutionary War Era military uniform in wax is cocoa color with good details. There is a split in the wax along Washington's collar line with a small piece lacking to the outer surface layer. It is housed in its original contemporary black painted shadow box style frame having a decorative gilt inner liner, measuring to 6.75" high x 5.4" wide, which is ready for hanging on display. Ex: Joan F. Seifter Collection, tag attached on the reverse of the frame is included. Rare type.
