Two complete and authentic issues of The Gentlman’s Magazine, each 96pp., disbound, near fine. January 1790, from the interior, a full page engraving of Doorway at a church at Tesworth with a detail description, in part “Above the door is a semicircular arch of stone; under which, are figures carved in alto relievo, the one representing a bishop, in pontisuaubui, with a crosier in his left-hand, and his right-hand lifted up, as giving benediction. The other figure represents a priest under the tonsure in his habiliments, holding in his left-hand the New Testament open, and his right pointed up to the Paschal Lamb and banner, within a circle or nimbus....” ... April 1790, from the interior, full page engraving, “South View of Tamworth Castl,” which dates from the 11th century and was built by the Normans. Also “View of General Monk;s House in Grub Street.”
