Winfield Scott ... is Respectfully Dedicated ..." The inscription on the front fly, "Taking from a dead Confederate Soldier's Haversack at the Battle of Gettysburg Pa., 1863." On the inside cover is the owner's signature which appears to be "M McLarren". McLarren served in Co. AR 3rd Infantry.
