1/6th plate ambrotype by James Ambrose Cutting (1814-1867) an American photographer and inventor, sometimes called the inventor of the Ambrotype photographic process. Marked at lower left of brass matte "CUTTING'S PAT JULY 4 1854." Half case. About very good condition.
