An authentic and complete issue of the New York Times, February 22, 1965, Late City Edition, 2 sections, 42pp., never bound. From the front page, four column headline above the photo, captioned "Malcolm X being brought to the hospital from the Audubon Ballroom". Below that a three column article, "Malcolm Knew He Was a 'Marked Man' , in part "I'm a marked man," he said slowly as he fingered the horn-rimmed glasses he wore and leaned forward to give emphasis to his words. "It doesn't frighten me for myself as long as I felt they would not hurt my family. "Asked about "they," Malcolm smiled, shook his head, and said, "those folks down at 116th Street and that man in Chicago." ... Another report, "Three Other Negroes Wounded -- One is Held in Killing"... The important news, well presented, from the location of the event.
