Letter written to Gen’l Ruggles by J.M. Seixas, November 21, 1861, 1pp., VG. In part, regret exceedingly that I have been unable to deliver the enclosed letter from Gen’l Gladden .. having been informed at the St. Charles Hotel ... that you had removed to a private house. It will afford me great pleasure to wait on you whenever engaged and to make your formal acquaintance.” A Seixas calling card is attached for Ruggles. Brigadier-General Adley H. Gladden was killed at Shiloh, struck down by a cannon-ball, he was carried from the field and soon afterward he died.
