Panoramic albumen photograph, 33-1/2"x9", titled in negative "SIOUX INDIANS - CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS 1925" and depicts 55 Sioux in native attire many with very detailed headdress and ornamentation. Photograph has been rolled and endured several creases, though still a stunning image of these Native Americans, about Good. Cheyenne Frontier Days is the oldest active rodeo in America and began in 1897. The term "rodeo," as we use it today, was first used by the Cheyenne Frontier Days Committee during the mid-1920s. Until then, the word had its Spanish meaning of a roundup.
