c. 1775 Anti-Slavery and Patriotic Enamel Battersea Box, Choice Extremely Fine. Round in shape, being 7/8" in diameter and 5/8" in height, with light blue battersea enamel on the bottom portion of the box and white enamel with black print on the lid. The inside of the box has clean white enamel. The top is inscribed: "May the Enemies of LIBERTY, Feel the Evils of Slavery." Slight chipping on the bottom corner edge and some modest repair to the lower left text, and in overall excellent condition. An important Anti-Slavery piece with a great, historic message!
