Autograph Letter Signed, in the hand of one "C. Beamard", 1 page, 8" x 10 1/2," Parish Rapides, Louisiana, July 19, 1834, postmarked "Alexandria, July 20." To P. Morse in Natchez. Docketed in pencil by one H. Baynam. Ragged and ripped at margins, a few tiny internal holes and generally showing wear, but attractive and Choice overall. Few things were more terrible for slaves than being "sold down the [Mississippi] river" - the fate, apparently, of "the boy, Bunny....You are hereby authorized to Pass the Sale in my name & for me The boy Bunny Warranting nothing but the Title to the purchase. Said boy is now...in the care of Mr. Maley if he has made sale of him to any person you are authorized to testify therein my name." VG.
