Broadside, 1p. quarto, “A Contraband Song” and is “Published by the Supervisory COmmittee for Recruiting Colored Regiments”, and reads in part: “...The following rare lyric is the favority freedom song of the Mississippi Contrabands. Its character and enthusiasm are great, and, among songs of its kind it has no supperior. A well known anti-slavery gentleman of this city presents it to Forney’s Press as a curiousity of contraband genius...” VG.
