Autograph Letter Signed by a brother and sister to their parents, March 10, 1867, the son writes in part: “...As I have never wrote you in time past, doubtless, you will be surprissed to receive this letter. I have nothing animating to write. The past six or seven years have been tenebrious, therefore if we judge the future by the past we may anticipate gloomy days. The people here are not very well pleased with the resolution enforced, as to governmental affairs. Negro equality is not at all desirable....” VG.
