Group of three (3) Autograph Letters Signed from Confederate commissary agent W.E. Curd, addressed to Captain Isaac Shelby, Chief Commissary of Subsitance, from November 27 to December 1, 1864, pencil, 4p. total, quarto, written from Jeffersonton, Virginia, and read in part: “...made contact iwth a gentleman who is going with us for 50 head of cattle...is to bring them from Boone & Putnam counties which are entirely within the enemy’s lines...Greenbacks can be used to much better advantage than gold...” And states communication can be sent in care of Major H.R. Bogle, near Tazewell Court House. VG.
