Autograph Letter Signed, “Thomas G. Green” 4p. octavo, Camp near Murfreesboro, Tennessee, April 21, 1862, and reads in part: “...our brigade just came off picket yesterday at noon...I did not see any secesh but there was a brigade of rebel cavalry about 2 miles from our picket lines...the rebels captured a train of cars about a week ago while on the way to Nashville and got about 200,000 dollars and 30 commissioned officers and then burned the train and burned some of their own wounded which we had here at Murfreesboro and were sending to Nashville. The guards on the train did not fire a gun...” VG.
