An important Civil War Union Broadside measuring about 4.5" x 13," Washington D.C., Choice Fine. Newspaper "Extra" Broadside, announcing "Grant's Success Decisive - Sheridan Carries All Before Him." Issued by the Troy Times Extra, this unique record from the end of the War, printed "Sunday, April 2-2 p.m.," details official dispatches from Lincoln and Stanton with a final word from Grant: "A dispatch from Gen. Grant states that Gen. Sheridan commanding cavalry and infantry, has carried everything before him. He captured Three Brigades of Infantry, a Wagon Train and several Batteries of Artillery. The Prisoners Captured will Amount to Several Thousands." Some wrinkles, overal quite clean and attractive for the grade. A true and exciting rarity with announcements about the hostilities, which is framable for display.
