c. 1865, Patriotic Covers Collection including one personal letter, Lot of 4, Choice Very Fine. Each cover measures approximately 3" x 5.25", and feature slogans or patriotic imagery printed in red and blue. Each cover is postmarked, with three-cent stamps, sent to New York, Illinois, and Iowa. The listed slogans include: "In every cline, on every sea, This Flag shall wave to guide the free," "Death to Traitors," and "Right nerves the Army of Loyalty." Each cover features a unique image. The first with the slogan, "In every cline..." has military armaments with man and woman. "Death to traitors" is drawn simply with an enormous cannon and American flag. "Right nerves the Arm of Loyalty," features two troops fighting. The final cover has an image of a soldier holding an American flag which has an accompanying personal letter in which the soldier passes along along recent news of friends and family. All of the envelopes are in very fine condition and are beautiful specimens. (4 Items)
