Wonderful ambrotype image of Union Major General John Dix. Measures 2 3/4” X 3 1/4” and is in excellent condition having two miniscule nicks at the bottom left corner, overall superb quality. Pictured behind Dix is a Civil War camp scene with tents, horses and soldiers. The brass preserver is in fine condition with just some light tarnish and the small loop missing from the top, as typical with these types of images.
