Civil War era battalion flag, 68”x136”, with thirty-five (35) handsewn stars, on linen. The flag dates between June 20, 1863 upon the acceptance of West Virginia by the Union and October 31, 1864 when Nevada was allowed into the Union. Some slight wear, else VG. Purchased from the Crandall estate after it had been owned by Henrie Crandall who was assistant commissary for the State of Rhode Island during the War.
