Partly-printed Document Signed, “Geo: Clinton” 1p. oblong folio, November 15, 1793, New York City, and reads in part: “...To William Marvin Junr. Gentleman Greeting. We, reposing especial trust and confidence, as well in your patriotism, conduct and loyalty, as in your valour and readiness to do us good and faithful service, HAVE appointed and constituted, and by these presents, DO appoint and constitute you the said William Marvin Lieutenant of a Company in the Regiment of Militia in the County of Saratoga whereof Samuel Clark Esquire, is Lieutenant-Colonel Commandant...” With seal.
