A group of over 50 WWII letters of people associated with the motion picture industry that have joined the armed forces, all written to J. Watson Webb, a Senior editor at 20th Century Fox. Writers include actors Robert Taylor, Robert Sterling, and John Payne, poet Christopher LaFarge, and fellow editors David Bretherton and Bob Parrish. For some reason the actors and editors made soldiers really pour out their hearts when writing to Mr. Webb, for whom it is obvious they all have the most profound respect. The writers readily communicate to Webb their sense of loneliness and frustration at the training process, particularly because several of them are in flight school , Their feelings towards the War, and of course, their wives and sweethearts back home. We have not read through all of the letters, though those we have read are exceptionally well written. All of the correspondence is war dated, except for several letters from Editor Bob Parrish, who is editing piles of German films in preparation for the Nuremberg Trials. Most of the letters come with their envelopes, and are in very good to near fine condition.
