ASTOR, John Jacob ( 1822 - 1890) Grandson of the founder of the Astor dynasty. His signature on the verso of a State of New York Canal Department Loan Certificate, made out to himself in the amount of Seventy Eight Thousand Four Hundred Dollars. Usual cut cancels well away from signature, otherwise very good.
