“PROCEEDINGS OF THE FIRST BIENNIAL CONVENTION OF THE JEWISH THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY ASSOCIATION HELD IN NEW YORK MARCH 11, 1888” published New York, 1888; Philip Cowen Printer; 30 pages (6 x 8 ½) along with the “Second Biennial Report” of 30 pages, which adds an important monograph written by Rabbi Sabato Morais “THE JEWS IN ITALY” (with total of 67 pages) published N.Y., 1890; Press of Philip Cowen and proceeding through the Third Convention and Biennial Report of 1892; the fourth “Proceedings of Convention and Report” of 1894 published by Ginsberg, N.Y. 1894;…the fifth report of 1896 (Cowen Press, N.Y. 1896) and the 6’th Biennial Report of March 20, 1898 (Cowen Printer). Each of these other reports also include extra monographs added at that respective year or included with the report. Total of pages for the entire group approximately 770. A thick, heavy, bound set. (Almost all verified with Singerman bibliography No. S-211). Among the included monographs is the fascinating “Memoir of Sabato Morais” (written by his son) along with monograph on “The History of Jewish Ethics.” Also included in the binding is a scarce pamphlet “The Activities of the Rabbi. A course of lectures delivered under the auspices of the Jewish Theological Seminary February-May 5652 [1892]” published 1892 by the same Association. (114 pages and the only imprint of smaller size 5 x 7. Listed in Singerman No. 4298). Generally exc. and better. Normal light aging throughout; do not show much wear; normal light browning mostly around edges. Another extra included is the slightly smaller 7 page “Jewish Theological Seminary Association…Preamble to the Constitution” bound at very front. Outer original binding cloth hard covers; front loose on inner hinge and spine, but still attached. Worthy and scarce addition to any American Judaica library
