Single sheet; blank reverse 5 x 7 ¼. Bold headline “UNITED HEBREW RELIEF ASSOCIATION.” Lists each of five districts in the city of Philadelphia with representatives (all Jewish) of each district and the areas of their supervision. Top of broadside with the entire Board of Directors and two column listing of the “Managers.” Noted along bottom that “All applicants for charity should be referred without delay to some member of the committee for the district in which they reside” with further directions and requesting the type of charity, size of family, etc. Exc. Reverse has penciled notations obviously by one of those representatives with names of men and women in need of assistance at the time. Significant to note that “SOLOMON TELLER,” whose name is on the masthead as “President” is on the record as the last president of the organization (page 143 “Jews of Philadelphia” by Morais 1894) who also mentioned in that same work page 311 that the Association was no longer existing by the date of publication (1894) of that work that clearly dates this unrecorded imprint prior to 1894.
