His personally penned (in a very bold, easily read hand) lengthy 45 page commentary for his lecture on Jewish charity. Title page boldly inscribed “MODERN CHARITY” over his equally bold autograph signature. All written in a 7 x 8 ½ soft cover notebook with a large news clipping glued to the inside cover from “JEWISH EXPONENT” April 12, 1907 titled “PHILADELPHIA CITY NEWS…LARGE NEWS…RAPPAPORT LARGE SOCIAL LECTURE BY LOUIS EDWARD LEVY” describing this identical lecture and Levy’s treatment of the subject with a resumé of Jewish organizations and their treatment of charity. Accompanied by three bio sketches of Levy; noted for his many inventions and innovations in the photo-engraving and printing fields (“Levytype” in 1875 the most noted) for which he received many decorations and awards; was also publisher and editor of the Phila. “Evening Herald” and the “Mercury”; influential in Jewish communal affairs and charitable organizations.
