February 16, 1948, Political Cartoon Decrying Arab Attacks on Jews in Palestine, by "N. Jubovsky," Choice Mint. This 19" x 25.75" image is the original artwork of a political cartoon in pastel and gouache on tan paper that depicts Englishman Harold MacMillan providing an Arab figure with weapons and explosives. The Arab man is shown brandishing a blood-soaked saber and has a swastika emblazoned on his chest. He is flanked by the bodies of Jewish men, women, and children. In the background is a barrel marked "Arab Oil" with a "stars and stripes" hat resting on the top. On the ground lies a placard that reads "President Truman's Twice Repeated Statement About the Immediate Admittance of 100,000 Jews to Palestine Oct 4, 1946." Nicely framed in a triple-cut mat of red, blue, and white. A rare item, ready for hanging and display.
