1786 Warrant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Treasurer's Office to enforce the collection of taxes, Boston, Choice Fine. 12.5" x 8." Light soiling and toning, the original paper and wax seal is intact. Partly printed and completed in manuscript, signed by Thomas Ivers, the Treasurer and Receiver-General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This document authorizes the Sheriff of Worcester County to collect unpaid taxes owed by Aaron Broad. Now, Broad was not just some ordinary citizen behind on his taxes; rather, Broad was the tax collector from Holden who owed more than £223 in taxes he had (or was supposed to have) collected)!
