1837-1838, Congress Records of the Seminole Indians - Prisoners of War, Choice Very Fine. This reprinted account of the 25th Congress, Second Session of the House of Representatives, War Department, concerns the capturing of Indians. This disbound section has 14 pages and is "Doc. No. 327" in a series. The front page reads "Letter from The Secretary of War" S. Cooper, which asks for information regarding the capture of Indians. The next sections are various reports in response which give accounts of their captures along with numbers and locations of where they are being held. Major General Thomas S. Jesup, in one letter, has over 113 Indians. Jesup was one of the leading men in this report who captured many Indians. Age-toned with foxing; text remains bold.
