Autograph Letter Signed, “Abraham Hanson” 3p. folio, July 13, 1846, and reads in part: “...I took breakfast at Mr. Ward’s - preached in the morning from Luke’s 12th ch and 37th verse ‘Blessed are those servants, whom the Lord when he cometh shall find watching’ I will not trouble you with an account of the sermon but inform you that the preacher closed the service by making this remark. ‘A little more than two weeks will end the term of your preacher under his present appointment. As he has never yet publicly annoyed you on the matters of salary - he may now be excused if he states that there is a deficiency of near $200....” More on officers of the church and more. About VG.
