Autograph Letter Signed, “Wm Whitaker” 2p. folio, March 5, 1854, Atlanta, Georgia, and reads in part: “...if you could only open a trading communication to Atlanta I think you would do much better than Dalton or Athens, and surely the distance can be but little carrier in the way, the roads being very good at all times except in the winter...but the advantage of trade here would well pay you for all taht...” More on mining.
