Autograph Letter Signed, “Rebecca Gould” 2p. quarto, Jamesville, August 29, 1854, and reads in part: “...received a letter from Alfred some time this month dated Oakville July 21st (North Carolina) he is engaged for the present yeara in digging gold dust, he says the lands about Chicago will not be in market until next year, he thinks the climate where he is too humid for him....he is about 6 miles from the South Carolina line...” VG.
