1876, Washington "Justice & Peace" Textile, Very Fine. Ribbon style, 10.5" x 1.5", bleached cotton fabric which is printed with a wonderful repeated patriotic pattern showing three portrait medallions of George Washington, and dated 1776. A brown-colored leaf connecting to a red shield, which encloses the word "PEACE" and the "Scales of Justice," in white. Trimmed edges, with some fraying along the top and right edge, affecting small portions of the middle medallion. Listed as an 1876 Centennial print, in "Threads of History" by Herbert Collins, p. 191.
