WILSON, Woodrow (1856-1924) 28th president, guided the country through World War I, under his administration the Underwood Tariff of 1913 was passed as were the Federal Reserve Act and the Federal Trade Commission. Typed Letter Signed, “Woodrwo Wilson” as Governor of New Jersey, 1p. quarto, March 1, 1911, addressed to John A. Dix, Governor of New York, and reads: “...Mr. Charles B. Storrs, 230 Maine Street, Orange, New Jersey, has been recommended to me by citizens of this State as a reputable gentleman, worthy and capable of discharging the duties of Commissioner of Deeds for the State of New York. His appointment is therefore recommended...” VG.
