Autograph Letter Signed on the behalf of Sam Houston, 1p. quarto, Washington, D.C., February 18, 1852, addressed to Mary Forrest and reads “The enclosed letter [not present] was recieved this evening, under cover, to Sen. Sam Houston. General H is absent from the city, and I take the liberty of forwarding this to you through ‘Adams & Co. Ex.’ The letter that accompanied it is dated Sonora, California 8’, Jan, 1852....” VG.
