Unmounted albumen, 6-1/2’ x 4-1/2”, circa 1910, of Emmett Dalton and his wife Julia Ann Johnson Dalton, he standing in front of his horse, she mounted side-saddle. The image has a mountain range in the background, likely the Dalton Mountain. The Daltons were known to have a hideout in those mountains. After his release from Lansing State Prison, in Kansas, in November 1907, Emmett Dalton relocated to the town of Bartlesville, Indian Territory (Oklahoma), married Julia Ann Johnson, moved to the state of California, became involved in real estate sales, the motion picture industry and died in July 1937 at the age of 66.
