WAINWRIGHT, Jonathan (1883-1953) was a career American army officer and the Commander of Allied forces in the Philippines at the time of their surrender to the Empire of Japan during World War II. Wainwright was a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his courageous leadership during the fall of the Philippines. Signed Photograph “”Skinny Wainwright” on the mount of a 8-1/2” x 12-1/2” b/w full frontal, seated image of the general in full uniform. The signature and inscription, “To my dearest Fred O’Donnell” are on the mount. VG.
