YATES, George Wilhelmus Mancius (1843-1876) was an officer in the U.S. 7th Cavalry Regiment and was killed in the Battle of the Little Bighorn. His mutilated remains were found near Custer on Last Stand Hill. Clipped signature, “George Yates, captain 4th Cavalry,” clipped from larger document. Fine.
