Le MOYNE, William (1831-1905) was an American actor who is credited with playing Deacon Perry in the first stage adaption of Harriet Beecher Stowe's anti-slavery novel, Uncle Tom's Cabin. Autograph Letter Signed “Wm. G. LeMoyne” 2pp. octavo, June 11, 1895, in small part: “...I was born in Salem St. Boston. Almost under the shadow of the Old North Church. The ringing of the chimes over my head is one of my earliest recollections...” Fine condition.
